2022 was the year of the company’s financial turnaround

Spanish carmaker SEAT S.A. posted the second-highest revenues in its history in 2022, with high-performance brand CUPRA outperforming all expectations.

Since being launched in 2018, the innovative designs and striking looks of CUPRA models such as the all-electric Born have attracted ardent admirers from across Europe and beyond.

In just the first two months of 2023, CUPRA deliveries increased by 75%.

This year CUPRA will open new high-tech showrooms in Berlin, Madrid, Manchester and Paris to meet rising demand. As part of its ambition to become a truly global brand, it is also currently analysing entry into North America. It is testing the brand with potential clients and says that results so far have been promising and positive.

SEAT S.A. posts annual turnover of 10.5 billion euros, second highest in company’s history

CUPRA is spearheading SEAT’s move into the age of the electric vehicle. It is preparing for its biggest-ever product offensive, which will begin in 2024 with the launch of the CUPRA Tavascan all-electric coupe SUV, followed in 2025 by the CUPRA UrbanRebel, its long-awaited urban electric car.

These new models will allow CUPRA to enter new segments and markets and help it reach its mid-term target of selling 500,000 cars a year.

“We know the future is electric and we have a clear vision and motivated team determined to make this transition,” SEAT S.A. Chief Executive Officer Wayne Griffiths told journalists at a press conference in the company’s hometown of Barcelona.

Partly thanks to the success of CUPRA, which was launched in 2018, parent company SEAT S.A. reported a 14% rise in revenue to 10.5 billion euros. Net profit rose almost fivefold to 324 million eurosfull_stop
