Devon is an experience like no other

In the summer of 2023, Devon unveiled its unique charm beneath unpredictable skies, proving that even the most capricious weather can’t dampen the spirit of adventure. Let’s dive into the delightful tale of our rainy escapade through Devon’s timeless beauty.

Our journey commenced in the picturesque town of St. Ives, where raindrops turned cobblestone streets into a canvas of colors. Galleries adorned with vibrant umbrellas invited us to explore a world where art thrived amidst the rain. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden shone with an otherworldly brilliance, as if the sculptures themselves had come to life in the drizzle.

Our next stop was Plymouth, where maritime history found new allure in the rain. The Royal William Yard, with its converted naval buildings, not only sheltered us but also provided a cozy ambience. We enjoyed hearty meals in charming pubs while watching raindrops create mesmerizing ripples on the harbor’s surface.

Tavistock, with its timeless charm, welcomed us with open arms regardless of the rain. Here, we found refuge in traditional tea houses, sipping cups of Earl Grey and eating pasties as raindrops serenaded us from outside. The Tavistock Pannier Market allowed us to immerse ourselves in local history, with vendors sharing their stories rain or shine.

Our journey culminated in the mystical Dartmoor, where rain turned the moorlands into an enchanted rainforest. Legendary tales came to life as we ventured to Wistman’s Wood, where ancient trees, draped in moss, took on an ethereal allure in the mist.
